PI Workflow is a comprehensive astrophotography processing interface that unifies the entire post-processing pipeline into a single environment. It organizes the processing steps dynamically while eliminating the clutter of dozens of temporary preview windows. It is designed to provide a smooth, structured transition from linear pre-processing to nonlinear stretching, star splitting, and final channel combination.
Universal Shared Preview Canvas
A single, high-performance, interactive preview panel shared across all tabs and tools. No more workspace clutter. Slider adjustments update in real-time via downsampling, with full-resolution calculations occurring only when you commit changes.
Interactive Split-Screen (Split View)
Divide the preview canvas with a vertical slider to inspect and compare "before" (original source) and "after" (processed candidate) details in real-time.
Multi-Algorithm Comparison Grid
Run and compare multiple tools simultaneously (e.g. ABE, DBE, and GraXpert for gradients; or BlurXTerminator and LHE for sharpening) in an integrated comparison grid.
8-Slot Transient Memory
Save up to 8 processing stages per tab and toggle between them instantly with simple left/right clicks to evaluate subtle parameter adjustments.
What's New
View full changelog ↗PI Workflow 2.0 — the modular rewrite. Major release (build 32): the public version number resets from the v8.x series to 2.0 to mark the modular rewrite.
Changed — architecture
- Modular rewrite. The monolithic two-file build is replaced by a thin loader (
PI Workflow.js) that includes anengine/tree (28 modules) and a UI shim that includes aui/tree (11 modules).
Added
- Image Enhancement tab.
- Configuration tab — user-configurable defaults and per-stage algorithm selection.
- Continuum Subtraction — scaled continuum removal for narrowband data.
- Batch "Apply all" in Pre-processing — Gradient/Deconvolution across every loaded slot, plate-solve propagation, and Star Split across all images.
- Layer-mask export and an on-export processing log.
- Bilingual EN/ES interface with hot language switching.
- SyQon V3 engines — Starless (Axiom V3) runs fully hidden; Parallax v1.5 gains a Natural/Defined Model Style selector; Prism verified.
Fixed
- AI tools no longer fail silently — BXT/SXT/NXT/DeepSNR/StarNet2 now throw when the AI engine fails instead of leaving the image untouched and reporting success.
- SyQon Starless was broken with the new executable (opened a visible window, used obsolete flags): reintegrated to run hidden; fallback window leaks closed.
- Image Enhancement sections opened expanded on entry → corrected.
- SSSC was missing from Configuration → Color Correction → added.
- DeepSNR was undocumented in the help → documented (EN + ES).
